Sumx Announces Successful Implementation Of SumxNet At Millennium Bank

- In-house system provides imaging and banking services to online customers -

MADISON, Miss., May 8, 2000 -- Sumx Inc., an in-house electronic banking solutions provider, announced the successful implementation of its customizable Internet banking system, SumxNet, for Millennium Bank, a $45 million asset, nationally chartered Internet community bank based in Reston, Va.

SumxNet enables Millennium Bank to offer transaction tracking and billing, check categorization, unlimited history depth, check image access, bill payment and cash management services to its individual and business online banking customers.

Millennium Bank is unique because of the extremely short time frame in which the bank was built -- less than six months.  Thus, ease and speed of implementation were important considerations in choosing an Internet banking system.

"The ability to operate in-house and to be implemented quickly were the two major determining factors involved in our Internet banking system purchasing decision," said Tom Chmelik, CFO of Millennium Bank.  "We have made a determined effort to keep as many of our systems in-house as possible and SumxNet allowed us to do that with Internet banking.  In addition, SumxNet's flexibility and ease of installation enabled us to provide a variety of features and options, including check imaging, to our online customers in about 90 days."

"The key to SumxNet's flexibility is its intelligent Web template system, which enables Millennium Bank to customize the look and feel of its Web site to meet its branding and marketing objectives," said Bazile Lanneau Jr., president and CEO of Sumx.  "Because it is an in-house solution, SumxNet is easier to run and offers more functionality than outsourced solutions, which fit well with Millennium Bank's directives.  This implementation was an ideal proving ground for our system and strongly demonstrates SumxNet's capabilities as a flexible Internet banking solution."
